Renewable Power
Power cost from Rs. 7 to Rs. 3 per Unit
Integrum worked with a cement client, with plants spread across more than 10 states. The client wanted to bring down its power cost from Rs. 7 to Rs. 3 on marginal cost basis and also become 100% RE compliant on or before 2030. The client was already implementing / implemented waste heat recovery boiler solutions at each of its cement plant locations.
We initiated our work by undertaking a detailed hourly consumption analysis of hte clients plants at each location. We extensively reviewed the policies and regulations prevailing in each state wrt provisions for banking, other incentive, no of years for which incentives are provided. We did technical analysis and review of wind and solar generation potential in each of the states. Based on the wind and solar generation profile on intrastate basis, as well as interstate basis (where wind power was not available within the state), we developed a detailed software model to conclude on the following :
- Generation profile for wind and solar for each location;
- Quantum of power that can be met from Hybrid RE;
- Interstate vs intrastate on cost and % energy replacement basis;
- Capital and operating cost of each options;
- Addl RE generation and its utilization in battery;
- Trading of surplus and deficit power at different points in time.
Based on our extensive model,
- We developed a roadmap for the client for achiveing 100% RE well before 2030.
- We developed capex and opex solutions for each location and ran combinations of all options, to present a solution to the client with marginal delivered cost of less than Rs. 3 per unit.
- We are now working in implementing the solution plant by plant.
